M.S. Paper Title: Enabling Unstructured Multigrid Under the Sieve
Framework
Abstract:
Geometric multigrid methods greatly accelerate the convergence of
finite element systems by using a series of coarser meshes to
efficiently remove persistent error from the solution. Motivated by
boundary value problems requiring vastly changing refinement scales on
different parts of the finest mesh, a flexible geometric technique for
coarsening simplicial meshes is adapted to sieve, a topologically-
motivated mesh framework. This combination leads to an efficient
method for building hierarchies of quality meshes that are suitable
for multigrid methods on complex domains in 2D and 3D.
