I have opened a ticket to keep track of this feature request:

I have also added instructions on what code would have to be modified to 
implement this feature. Note that, if you add new resource types (like 
the MRI you mentioned in previous e-mails), a separate issue is how to 
specify that a lease request (in an LWF file) needs that resource. As a 
workaround, you could just add an extra field to the LWF file and 
include that in your resource request, but further down the road we'll 
probably have to modify the LWF format so it can specify arbitrary 
resources.
