FOCS 2024: Call for Workshops
Important Dates
Submission deadline:
August 22, 2024
Notification:
August 29, 2024
Conference dates:
October 27-30, 2024
FOCS 2024 will hold workshops on the conference's first day (Oct 27). We invite groups of interested researchers to submit workshop proposals.
The FOCS 2024 workshops provide an informal forum for researchers to discuss important research questions, directions, and challenges in the field. Workshops often serve the vital purpose of introducing researchers to new areas and agendas. We also encourage workshops focusing on connections between theoretical computer science and other areas.
Format: Each workshop should be either 2.5 hours or 5 hours. All workshops are in person.
Proposal Submission
Workshop and tutorial proposals should fit within two pages. Please include a list of names and email addresses of the organizers, a brief description of the topic and the goals of the workshop, and the format (overview talks, invited talks, contributed talks, poster session, panel discussion, etc.) and proposed or tentatively confirmed speakers if known. The proposal should specify the desired duration (2.5 or 5 hours).
We encourage proposals to directly address how the topics will fit together and how the format will help researchers, not already acquainted with the subarea, learn about it. If your proposal is accepted and you wish to solicit contributed talks, we can link to your call for contributions from the FOCS 2023 page. Feel free to contact the workshop co-chairs directly if you have any questions.
Co-chairs: Mohsen Ghaffari <ghaffari at mit.edu>, Pravesh Kothari <kothari at cs.princeton.edu>
Submission Instructions
Submission Instructions: Proposals should be emailed to Mohsen Ghaffari (ghaffari at mit.edu) and Pravesh Kothari (kothari at cs.princeton.edu) by August 21, 2024.
Proposers will be notified by August 29, 2024, whether their proposals have been accepted. Here is a sample template for workshop proposals; you may use a different format.
