Title: High-Dimensional Optimization for Document Intelligence

Abstract: Generative AI depends on accurate, extensive corpora and robust retrieval indices. Although performance scales with model size, computational budgets are finite. Hence, systems for document understanding face the same accuracy–efficiency trade-off as the models that consume their outputs. At the scale of millions of scientific documents, this becomes a high-dimensional optimization problem. Adaptive meta-strategies and specialized algorithms are presented and evaluated in this setting. This work explores uncertainty-aware optimization for Document Intelligence—systems that lift pages into symbolic representations and support science-savvy reasoning.
