Title: Results toward Skolem’s Problem and structural correspondences in dynamics and complexity.

Abstract: We review the key ideas of a recent paper advancing the state of the art for Skolem’s Problem and the associated Orbit Problem.  We then provide a number of results toward a larger-scale program seeking to bridge parts of computational complexity theory with dynamical systems theory.  The talk will emphasize concepts and intuition over detailed proof and calculation in the hopes of providing an approachable exposition of the material.
