Title: Protecting Creators from Misuses of Generative AI

Abstract: Generative AI is revolutionizing the art industry by training models on billions of copyrighted artwork without consent, compensation or credit for the original artists. AI’s capacity to replicate artists' unique styles directly from their copyrighted work is undermining artists' livelihoods and discouraging the next generation of art students from pursuing their passions. In this talk, I will introduce our project, "Glaze," which protects human artists by exploiting inherent vulnerabilities in generative AI models. I'll discuss the robustness and generalizability of Glaze as well as my experience of deploying Glaze to the global artist community.
