Title: A Survey on Data Markets

Abstract: Data markets are environments where sellers want to sell their data for profit, and buyers want to get data for some downstream data tasks. While there exists many data marketplaces (e.g. AWS Data Market, Snowflake Marketplace), these markets fail to perform well. In this survey, we first identify the four components that make up a data market: data productization, matching, pricing, and revenue allocation. We then study techniques from existing literature to see how they can be applied to design better data markets.
