Title: Semi-automated Tooling for File Management in Personal Cloud Storage

Abstract: The ability to persistently store, curate, and retrieve information in digital file collections has been integral to knowledge workers for decades. However, despite the utility of digital file storage, many problems remain unsolved. Many file collections are disorganized, causing issues with retrieving uncategorized or miscategorized files or removing files with low utility or high sensitivity. The proposed thesis attempts to address these shortcomings in the setting of personal cloud storage by analyzing users' file management behavior, conducting user studies, and developing semi-automated tools that aid file management activities.
