3/13.*

*When:* Friday, March 6th *Refreshments at 12:00pm. **Talk at 12:20pm*

*Where:* TTIC, 6045 S. Kenwood Avenue, 5th Floor, Room 526

*Who: * Greg Skakhnarovich, TTIC

*Title: * Everything old is new again

*Abstract: *I will discuss our recent work in two areas of computer vision:
image understanding (object detection and segmentation)
and image synthesis (style transfer). We revisit some ideas which were
discussed in the field decades ago, and find that combined
with modern tools, in particular convolutional networks, and some fresh
perspective, these ideas may be quite competitive (again).
