Introduction to Hadoop

Hadoop is an open-source software framework for distributed storage and distributed processing of very large data sets. This tutorial gives an introduction to Hadoop concepts and tools: MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Pig, Hive, Impala, Spark, and others.

Level: This is an INTERMEDIATE level workshop.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of Linux and programming in some language (especially Java and Python) would be useful. Please bring your laptops to run examples. You should be able to ssh to the Midway cluster.
