M.S. Paper Title: Numerical Solutions to the KdV Equation

Abstract:
Implicit difference schemes for nonlinear PDEs, such as the
Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation, require large systems of equations
to be solved at each timestep, leading to long computation times. A
group of finite difference schemes for KdV are given here, and a
parallel algorithm is presented and implemented for one such scheme. A
computational model is compared to experimental results, and the
performance and scalability of the algorithm are discussed.
