M.S. Paper Title: Multiresolution matrix factorization

Abstract:
Graphs and matrices arising in learning problems often have rich
hierarchical, 'clusters of clusters' structure. The general framework
proposed in this talk for capturing structure in matrices at different
scales leverages ideas from multiresolution analysis. We review
concepts related to classical multiresolution analysis and their
extension to discrete cases such as graphs and propose a new notion of
matrix factorization, called Multiresulution Matrix Factorizations
(MMFs).
