Dear RCC Researchers,

The Research Computing Center is hosting its first annual Research Computing Expo and Symposium called Mind Bytes on October 28, 2014. The event is a celebration of research computing and scholarship at RCC and an opportunity for collaboration and networking with fellow researchers.

A crucial feature of the Mind Bytes event will be a poster session to enable the exchange of ideas across disciplines and reward student work on faculty projects.

The posters should represent research projects conducted on RCC's Compute Cluster, Midway, which showcase the application of high-end computing and/or Big Data in research. The Research Computing Center will print and display these posters in Ida Noyes Hall over the duration of the event. Posters will be evaluated on the researcher's implementation of RCC resources; the research itself will not be the judges' focus, but rather the use of high-end computing and/or big data to conduct and support that research.

A number of prizes will be awarded based on different judging categories. Details will be forthcoming.

Please email your intent to participate by Monday, September 1st to events at rcc.uchicago.edu<mailto:events at rcc.uchicago.edu>
