Text As Data Workshop Series Begins_

This special four-week workshop series explores the emerging area of
automated analysis of texts to address questions in the social sciences.
MFI Visiting Fellow Justin Grimmer of Stanford University will kick off this workshop series with a talk called "Discovering Concepts" on Feb.
23. He will discuss recent work to develop a computer-assisted method for the
discovery of insightful conceptualizations in the form of clusterings of
input objects. The paper he will discuss is available here:

The series is free and open to interested researchers and students.
The workshop will continue through March 16 on:
Wednesdays, 1:20-2:50 p.m. and
Tuesday, March 1 and March 15, 12-1:30 p.m.
