Title: Quadratic Forms on Graphs
 
Abstract:

We introduce a new graph parameter, called the Grothendieck constant of a
graph, which measures the integrality gap of certain integer programs, and
has applications to various combinatorial optimization problems.  Its study
leads to several extensions of the classical inequality of Grothendieck, to
an improvement of a recent result of Kashin and Szarek, and to a solution of
a problem of Megretski and of Charikar and Wirth.
 
Most of the talk is based on a joint work with Noga Alon, Yury Makarychev
and Assaf Naor.
