M.S. Paper Title: On Handwriting Recognition with Elementary
	 Geometric and Algorithmic Methods

Abstract:

In this paper, we introduce some novel ideas about
handwriting recognition. Our works are based primarily
on elementary geometric and algorithmic methods. We
explain these methods and algorithms with experiments
using MNIST database. The contributions of this paper
are divided into two parts: (1) We invented some
geometric analysis tools to transform an image into a
low dimensional data structure which preserves the
ideas about writing, a graph. (2) We constructed a
recognition program that classifies the graphs
acquired according to some models based on our
knowledge of written symbols.

The results of our experiments show that our methods
have competitive speed and correctness rates. We
believe this approach may bring some new breakthroughs
in this area. Because the nature of our methods
doesn't rely on advanced mathematics, this recognition
and classification procedure may be similar to what
actually happens in our brains when we read, and helps
us better understand this mystery.
