Title:
The RKHS Norm as a Complexity Measure and Its Computation
Abstract:
The norm of a function in an RKHS is a crucial factor in determining the
complexity of the problem of learning that function from a random sample,
using least square regularization. The task of computing this norm, however,
is nontrivial in general. In fact, given an RKHS, it is not at all
straightforward to determine what functions are really in the space: for
example, does it contain constant functions, linear functions? In this talk,
we will provide partial answers to these questions for several important
kernels.
